DJI Mavic Pro Drone and Osmo Mobile

WHAT used to be a “toy” of the experts and pros in videography and photography has now evolved into a must-have consumer gadget. That’s the new DJI Mavic Pro, a drone about the size of a 500ml mineral water bottle, small enough to toss in a bag and easy enough to launch quickly whenever the time and conditions are right.

The compact body of the Mavic Pro holds a drone built for uncompromising performance. It is equipped with a stabilised 4K camera and a visual navigation system, with a 7km range and up to 27 minutes of flight time. Despite its size, the Mavic Pro is packed with features, such as the smallest-ever three-axis gimbal for shake-free photos and video.

The autofocus camera features a minimum focusing distance of just 0.5 metres and can be flipped 90 degrees to portrait mode for vertical selfies and video. Mavic Pro records 4K video at 30fps and full HD 1080p at 96fps. Its 12-megapixel camera with Adobe DNG RAW support has been expertly tuned for aerial images. With the help of the high-precision gimbal, you can confidently shoot two-second-long exposures in the air to get the most jaw-dropping aerial images. The Mavic Pro will be available in November, 2016 at RM4,556.94 (with GST).

Besides the foldable drone, DJI also launches a smartphone stabilisation and automation system. Called Osmo Mobile, this three-axis gimbal phone stabiliser allows smartphone users to shoot effortless, high-quality photos and videos on the go. It’s available now at RM1,376.94 inclusive of GST.
